[00:00:00] Speaker A: That was at big dogs. We don't know how to pronounce this dude's name. Okay, if Gina views want to give it a go, but we couldn't pronounce it last week. We can't damn sure pronounced this week. But my name is DJ head. [00:00:10] Speaker B: My name is Gina Views. What up, y'all? How y'all doing? [00:00:12] Speaker A: Welcome to effective immediately. God damn it. Hip hop nation. Thank you for tuning in. Go to effectivemediately live. It's been a crazy week in hip hop, and we are not going to disappoint in this show. Now, I do want to send a special shout out to our serious fam out there in New York. I went and visited the office as I was in New York with Will. I am on his press run. We were launching the radio, FYI. It's basically the radio stations built into the FYI app. If you're not familiar, get real familiar and download that FYI app now. It'll take the place of so many different apps you got in your phone, including in the chat GPTs of the world. So make sure you download that. I know Gina View's already got the app. Also, I want to shout out to central c. I saw a video of central circumental, and he was rapping and he looked uncomfortable. Okay. And I don't know. I don't know if it was because of the camera or if it was because of what he was saying, but hopefully, you know, Central C settles into his new star and his new star power and with his new relationship and everything. Are you a Central C fan? [00:01:12] Speaker B: Yes. [00:01:16] Speaker A: You do not sound convincing. Anyway, we got a lot on this show. We're going to talk about some NBA Youngboy. We gonna cover the DNC convention. Lil Jon was out there. Yg's album dropped. [00:01:27] Speaker B: We got some immediate bullshit, all kind. [00:01:29] Speaker A: Of shit going on in this show. So keep it locked right here, hip hop nation, right now. Let's get into it. Tommy Richmond is on your radio. It's effective immediately. Yep, it's effective immediately. I'm DJ head. [00:01:38] Speaker B: What up, world? It's your favorite home girl, Gina views. [00:01:40] Speaker A: Shout out to that. Housekeeping knows that Drake and Lato record, that was Gina's pick after. No, it wasn't. That wasn't yours, was it? Did you like that Drake and Lato record? [00:01:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I fucked with it, okay? [00:01:49] Speaker A: I didn't really like that. I liked the 21 savage one. [00:01:51] Speaker B: Hey, anything lotto touch is fire. Okay? [00:01:54] Speaker A: But, yeah, speaking of which, I wanna get into this DNC. If you don't know the democratic national convention that's going on. And it's a lot of hip hop and culture taking place within the confines of these things. Gina View's favorite part was Lil Jon coming out there, and he had on a. Was that a. Was that a vest suit? [00:02:16] Speaker B: Lil Jon was flying. [00:02:18] Speaker A: Lil Jon had on the Hillary Clinton suit. [00:02:20] Speaker B: But you know what? [00:02:21] Speaker A: You know how Hillary Clinton be wearing the little pantsuits. [00:02:25] Speaker B: Hey, they tricked me, because when it came on, the welcome to Atlanta beat was playing. [00:02:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:30] Speaker B: So I'm like, oh, Jermaine Dupri finna come out Ludacris. I thought they was gonna perform the whole thing, but then it switched to turn down for what? [00:02:38] Speaker A: Yeah, then shout out to Georgia. They know how to represent. But I thought it was gonna be ludicrous and I was gonna lose my shit. [00:02:44] Speaker B: Yeah, that would have been hard. [00:02:45] Speaker A: I thought if they would. [00:02:47] Speaker B: Anyway, yeah, I'm so they got me. [00:02:51] Speaker A: They got you? [00:02:52] Speaker B: They got me. I done. Text join to. What is it, 30330. [00:02:58] Speaker A: I've been getting text updates all week for Kamala Harris. [00:03:02] Speaker B: For Kamala Harris. You know what I like, though? That was very, very empowerful. I don't know if you threw the Mita Graham's instrumental behind her speech or if that was just on social media, but it was like, one part. I forget what she said. Y'all can go check it out on DJ head's instagram. And it was like, the beat dropped. But then it came back to when it was, like, very sinister, when Kendrick was rapping a Drake. I'm like, this is amazing. [00:03:26] Speaker A: People are saying that that's the new ether beat. And I think. I think that's a good one. I think that's a good one. Also want to shout out to Stevie Wonder, who was also at the DNC. Him and DJ Mosky. Man, I'm so proud of the homie, DJ Mosky, for performing because Stevie Wonder made sure to give him his look, too. He was like, are you ready, Mosky? And I was like, that's my homie. He from Long beach. That's crazy. [00:03:50] Speaker B: I ain't never seen you excited before. You was like that. [00:03:52] Speaker A: But that was a big deal. We don't never get. Especially. This is the thing, too. And I will say this. I think that the Harris campaign is borrowing a lot of influence from when Obama was running because they leaned heavily into hip hop, they leaned heavily into culture to get new voters to go out and participate. And Gina views signed up for the group chat. [00:04:10] Speaker B: I signed up for the group chat. And hip hop. Hip hop and the culture. We are the trailblazers. [00:04:15] Speaker A: And then the music that was playing, they was playing not like us. California love Gavin Newsom. Shout out to Gavi. You know what I'm saying? Gavin Newsom repping our state of California came out and, you know, I just think everything. The hip hop inclusion and culture. Inclusion is very important when you try to move us, because we don't give a fuck about nothing. So, yeah, keep it going. Shout out to Kamala Harris and the Harris campaign and all that. And also that glorilla, that TGIF. One of my favorites out this year is coming right after. This is hip hop. Yo, that was a nineties, baby shot to JT. It's effective immediately on hip hop nation. I'm DJ head. [00:04:48] Speaker B: I'm Gina views head. We gotta talk about YG. [00:04:51] Speaker A: YG 400. [00:04:52] Speaker B: YG 400, yeah. Leading the truth in Compton. Ending a ten year rivalry between a treetop parous and a fruit town parous. [00:05:01] Speaker A: I think this is big. And I went on a bit of a rant and I erased it. I was gonna go on Twitter and go crazy or ex whatever, but I think that nobody be covering this type of stuff. I saw it on, like, a few, like, media sites and stuff like that. But people don't like to cover the positive stuff. If YG got shot, people, it'd be everywhere, on every blog, every website be talking about who did it. Is it related to slim? It'd be all of the bullshit. But I thought it was super dope. And they kept saying, this is a west coast thing. It's not a west coast thing. This is a Compton thing, first of all. [00:05:34] Speaker B: Second of all, this is not all the gangs in LA. [00:05:36] Speaker A: No, this is not a la thing like that. I mean, it is l a street culture, but this is a Compton thing. [00:05:42] Speaker B: It's really Bompton. [00:05:43] Speaker A: This is for them. [00:05:44] Speaker B: Just them, this, them. [00:05:46] Speaker A: And shout out to everybody that took part. I saw game out there, I saw wacko out there. I saw, like, it was different sections. I don't want to get the name in everybody hood, but I saw a couple of sections out there. And I was like, damn, this is super dope. The Westside is out there. The Nella's was out there. [00:06:02] Speaker B: Like, this is amazing. We remember we had briefly talked to him about all of the stuff going on in Compton when we was at his studio. Just seeing that he was able to do that and with the help of everybody. Cause it couldn't just be him. He would need the help of, you know, of other people. I hope that. And I know this is like, you know, it's a long shot, but in a perfect world in Los Angeles, if other hoods can take this same approach and we can see more unity and camaraderie between the hoods in Los Angeles, like, that would be amazing. [00:06:34] Speaker A: We need more bipartisan agreements. [00:06:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:37] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? Do you agree? [00:06:38] Speaker B: Yes. [00:06:38] Speaker A: Okay. For sure. And I also saw. I saw when Nipsey died that the hoovers took part in a walk in a peace walk with the sixties. I thought that was big. We need to keep this momentum going, because I think the pop out kind of changed the temperament of the city. [00:06:52] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:06:53] Speaker A: And I think everybody's just embracing it, and I think it's dope. I think it's beautiful. Salute to those men out there, those men and women, for partaking and being willing to stand up, because I know everybody not on board. You already know. It's a couple of. [00:07:05] Speaker B: It's politics. [00:07:05] Speaker A: It's politics. And everybody don't be on board. And then when you get back home, you gotta have those conversations with those homies. So shout out to everybody that's putting their neck out for that. [00:07:13] Speaker B: Shout out to the treetops, shout out to the fruit town pa ruse, and shout out to everybody, you know, for being leaders in their community. [00:07:19] Speaker A: Thank you for your contributions at Eminem. Houdini is coming right after this. Domani is hip hop nation effective immediately. Yo, it's effective immediately. I'm DJ head. [00:07:27] Speaker B: I'm Gina views word of the daytime. [00:07:28] Speaker A: Gina views. [00:07:29] Speaker B: Uh oh. Thun thun, thun thun. [00:07:31] Speaker A: We were talking about politics earlier in the streets and in the courts, and I brought up a word, and the word was bipartisan. It was a bipartisan agreement between the treetop pyroos and the fruit town pyros. [00:07:42] Speaker B: Mm hmm. [00:07:43] Speaker A: Okay, tell me what bipartisan means. [00:07:45] Speaker B: Maybe mutual agreement. [00:07:49] Speaker A: Something like that. Yeah. [00:07:50] Speaker B: Okay. [00:07:51] Speaker A: You using context clues? [00:07:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I got a bachelor's. [00:07:56] Speaker A: You gotta throw that out there every time. Every time we do word of the day. I got a bachelor's degree. [00:08:00] Speaker B: That motherfucker got dust on it, nigga. [00:08:01] Speaker A: You don't. This nigga always queasy me on records. You ain't got no ba. Bipartisan involving the agreement or cooperation of two political parties that usually oppose each other's policies. [00:08:12] Speaker B: Mm. [00:08:14] Speaker A: Good context clues, though, Gina. [00:08:15] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was a good one. [00:08:16] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? [00:08:17] Speaker B: You gotta come a little harder next time. [00:08:18] Speaker A: Pause. [00:08:19] Speaker B: Pause. [00:08:21] Speaker A: Hey, is pause done? [00:08:23] Speaker B: No. Well, I saw, like, well, they say no diddy now. [00:08:27] Speaker A: So we got gunna fuck you. Me coming right after this. A boogie with a hoodie. It's effective immediately on hip hop nation. That was that boss man dlo right here on effective immediately. I'm dj head. [00:08:36] Speaker B: What up, world? It's your favorite homegirl, Gina views. And I got some hip hop history for your radio. Shout out to my girl Vashti. This news is coming to you straight from the hip hop agenda. [00:08:46] Speaker A: Shout out to Vashti. [00:08:47] Speaker B: And so this week in hip hop, Aaliyah did pass away in 2001. Okay, DJ Khaled dropped. Got dead 2022. Young thug dropped Jeffrey in 2016. Oh, jeezy dropped GD World 2021. Rob wave was born. Happy birthday, Rob wave. [00:09:04] Speaker A: He probably sad about his birthday. Is that correct? [00:09:08] Speaker B: That's crazy. Kanye actually released two projects this week, Donda and late registration. Wayne dropped Carter. Four. Boogie was born. Shout out to Westside boogie. Mayna also has a birthday. And Joe Budden was born. Shout out to Joe Budden. [00:09:22] Speaker A: Pump. Pump. [00:09:23] Speaker B: Pump it up. [00:09:24] Speaker A: Yes. Shout out to Joe Budden, too. We saw him get his plaque. Gold, officially certified gold for pump it up. And I did have this conversation with a couple of people, and I don't like people making fun of Joe Budden for being happy about going gold in 2024. It's still a big deal, especially coming from a physical era into a digital era. It's not an easy transition. And then also, you gotta think about it like, a lot of your favorite rappers ain't got gold records, period. You saying, let's keep it real. So I think that is to be celebrated. So shout out to Joe Budden. [00:09:57] Speaker B: Joe Budden's a goat. That's a legend right there. And the song pump it up is actually like one of those soundtracks of our childhood. That shit was played all through the whole, like, clown dancing crump era. Even on the movie you got served, that was one of the songs that they danced on, you know, when they won or whatever. [00:10:14] Speaker A: Yeah, shout out to the bigger picture. I actually said that. I think the pump it up is one of those cultural records. Hell yeah. The song is bigger than the numbers that it produced. You know what I mean? Like, pump it up is one of those records. Timbaland and Magoo drop. Like, I'm pretty sure that record's not platinum, but we know the record. As soon as it come on, everybody knows what to do. It's not a guessing game. And then it's a few records like that that I think that doesn't get the credit that it deserves from the numbers. [00:10:40] Speaker B: I think it's amazing to know that pumping up is still streaming, right? Pumping up is streaming still. So we're in a whole different era of even consuming music. And he's a receiving a plaque for it. That's crazy as hell. Shout out to Joe, buddy. [00:10:52] Speaker A: Big music accolades. Speaking of which, this song is number three in the country still right now is Kendrick Lamar. Not like us. It's effective immediately on hip hop nation. Yo, that was that polo gee lil Durk. We a shoot right here on hip hop nation. It's effective immediately. I'm dj head. [00:11:06] Speaker B: I'm Gina views. [00:11:07] Speaker A: Please go check out our polo g interview. It's officially up right now. You could check it out. You could actually listen to it if you got the series XM app. You can go listen to all our past interviews, or you can go to our page, effective immediately, on YouTube or stream the podcast. Anywhere you get your podcast. Polo G's are really, really nice to. [00:11:23] Speaker B: Us that we a shoot is a banger, too. [00:11:25] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a slap, for sure. [00:11:27] Speaker B: We a shoot you a shoot. [00:11:30] Speaker A: No, because I don't want a case. [00:11:32] Speaker B: You don't gotta shoot a gun. You can shoot a basket. Nah, you can shoot your shot. [00:11:37] Speaker A: That ain't flying. [00:11:38] Speaker B: When the last time you shot your. [00:11:39] Speaker A: Shot at a woman? [00:11:41] Speaker B: I would hope. [00:11:42] Speaker A: I mean, why would you hope? [00:11:44] Speaker B: Why would you ask me that? So NBA Youngboy is now facing 64 felony charges in Utah after getting hit with a new gun charge recently. Well, this week, he's now facing ten years in jail. [00:11:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I think this is bad. Not just this is bad for NBA Youngboy, obviously. That goes without saying. This is bad because NBA Youngboy has so many young fans. He has a lot. I went to Locke high school. Shout out to Locke high school in Watts. [00:12:12] Speaker B: You went to Locke? [00:12:13] Speaker A: No, I didn't go there as a student. I went to go speak to students, and a lot of the students are really big fans of NBA Youngboy. And it shocked me because I'm like, damn. And Watts, he has influence like that. And a lot of them were young latino homies, and they were like, yeah, we fuck with Youngboy. [00:12:28] Speaker B: And I'm like, damn, he got the kids for sure. [00:12:30] Speaker A: He got them on lock. And, you know, he always has the biggest numbers on YouTube. He outstreams everybody. He's one of them ones that he doesn't get credit because he doesn't make, quote unquote, mainstream music, and he doesn't participate in the music industry. He is participating in a lot of other activities that's landing him in a lot of trouble. And I think that it's imperative that these artists who are coming up, which we shared with Polo G. When he was on the show, is that a lot of these kids are looking up to you, they following you, they're heavily influenced by you. And once you get to a certain level, it kind of like, I'm not telling you to grow up, so to speak, or act 30, 40 years old if you. Not that you still 25, 25, et cetera. But it's still really, really important that you understand your influence on the youth. [00:13:18] Speaker B: Well, for, you know, it's probably easier said than done, but I think a lot of these celebrities, they don't realize that they are celebrities and they kind of still stuck into their habits and, you know, the way that they're used to living, which is what we also spoke to apologie about. But prayers out to Youngboy, you know, I hope he gets through this case. [00:13:36] Speaker A: Now, he did plead guilty, and I would assume that he did that to get around a crazier sentence because the charges that I read were crazy. Like, as far as, like, you know, a little bit of this, a little bit of that. [00:13:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:13:50] Speaker A: And I think that when you have so many pending, so many litigations against you, it's like, sometimes you do gotta take a deal. I know a lot of the homies have taken deals, plea deals and stuff like that. That doesn't mean that you're guilty of everything. I just wanna reiterate that point. Like, if you plead guilty to this. [00:14:08] Speaker B: Gun charge, it's usually to get a lesser sentence. [00:14:11] Speaker A: Yeah, that doesn't mean like, that means, like, they got some evidence on you and you probably don't wanna risk it in court. You know what I'm saying? So there's that, too. Some lotto shout out to Lotto. Big advocate right here. [00:14:22] Speaker B: Big shout out to lotto big mama. [00:14:24] Speaker A: We got that big mama coming up right after this. Don Tyliver. It's effective immediately on hip hop nation. Eminem, jid right here on hip hop nation. It's effective immediately. I'm DJ head. [00:14:33] Speaker B: I'm Gina views, and I got some immediate bullshit for you guys. Immediate bullshit immediately. Okay, so this is a part of the show where we talk about, you know, the crazy stuff just going on in the world. [00:14:44] Speaker A: Yes. [00:14:44] Speaker B: And this is absolutely crazy. So a Georgia man is suing an Atlanta hospital after the staff lost a 28 square inch piece of his skull after a routine procedure, then billed him for the synthetic replacement. [00:14:59] Speaker A: So they lost his head or part of his head. [00:15:01] Speaker B: They lost his head. They lost the piece of his head. And I have a picture of it right here. Of course, I know the listeners can't see it, but it'll be up on our instagram. This looks crazy. [00:15:13] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:14] Speaker B: So it's literally a piece of his head missing. This is not funny at all. But it's funny because how do you lose a piece of somebody head and then y'all put the n head back together and just. And then y'all let em wake up like that? [00:15:30] Speaker A: Well, the thing. That's not even the question. The question is, why'd you remove the head? [00:15:35] Speaker B: Well, it said it was a routine procedure. [00:15:37] Speaker A: No, why'd you remove the piece of the man's head and then leave it right there? [00:15:42] Speaker B: You don't lose nobody head. [00:15:44] Speaker A: Like work, like. So I used to build model cars, right? [00:15:50] Speaker B: Losing an engine is crazy. [00:15:52] Speaker A: When you build a model car and you take a piece, I take the wheel off, I put it right here. You know what I'm saying? Where the fuck did they put the skull at? [00:16:03] Speaker B: Just imagine the n wake up and look in the mirror. [00:16:06] Speaker A: Who came and got the tray? [00:16:08] Speaker B: Imagine you wake up and look in the mirror and, like, where the other piece of my head at the. Like, how do you explain to a patient, we lost a piece of your skull? [00:16:17] Speaker A: Suing them is better than without a did, man. [00:16:20] Speaker B: How much you think that that's worth? [00:16:23] Speaker A: A piece of my skull? Yeah, it's a 28 square inch piece. What you mean? You know what 28 inch? That's a personal pizza. [00:16:34] Speaker B: How much you want for that? How much you want for your head top? [00:16:37] Speaker A: Just saying. Do you know what 28 inches is? [00:16:42] Speaker B: How much do you want for your hair top? [00:16:44] Speaker A: That's what I'm trying to explain. I need a million. I need 10 million per inch. Pause. [00:16:49] Speaker B: Pause. That was crazy as a. You know, it's crazy when a nigga could pause itself. That was crazy, bro. That hospital will be named after me. I have a whole chain of hospitals, and the whole staff would be fired. Where is my head at? [00:17:04] Speaker A: The thing? [00:17:05] Speaker B: Where my head. [00:17:06] Speaker A: The question that nobody is asking is, when you take the man's skull off, why did you not. Where do you put it? [00:17:13] Speaker B: Where you put it. [00:17:15] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? You know how, like, you take the cap off the orange juice, you put. [00:17:20] Speaker B: It right next to it. It'd be right there on the counter. [00:17:21] Speaker A: So you poured a glass of orange juice, and now you can't find the fucking cap. [00:17:25] Speaker B: That's bad business. [00:17:26] Speaker A: That's crazy. [00:17:27] Speaker B: That's crazy. That's crazy. [00:17:29] Speaker A: Justice for that man's head top. Yeah. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Now, I don't want to get dark on you, but, you know, they say people be selling body parts, bruh. [00:17:40] Speaker A: What you mean you think somebody sold his headpiece? [00:17:42] Speaker B: What else the fuck they did with it? What the fuck else could they do with it? Cause it's not like it can fit on anybody else head. That's my piece of my scuff. That's my head. It's like a puzzle. It can only fit. Back in position. [00:17:57] Speaker A: Hey, man, listen, we got some tee grizzly coming up for you. [00:18:00] Speaker B: They probably gave that nigga another brain right after this. [00:18:04] Speaker A: Nicki Minaj. It's effective immediately on hip hop nation. Yo, it's effective immediately. I'm DJ Hebb. [00:18:10] Speaker B: I'm Gina views. And we got some sexy red news for you guys. So sexy Red is actually introducing her first product. It's the Northside princess brand. And she's dropping a lip gloss. The lip gloss has. [00:18:23] Speaker A: It's popping. [00:18:24] Speaker B: The lip gloss is definitely popping. Okay, so sexy redhead, she got some crazy titles for the lip gloss flavors. Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead and read them. You know, excuse my french for the listeners. Coochie juice. [00:18:39] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:39] Speaker B: Booty hole brown. [00:18:41] Speaker A: That makes sense. [00:18:41] Speaker B: Nut. Pussy hole. Pink. Yellow discharge. Gonorrhea, blue balls. [00:18:46] Speaker A: Not a fan. [00:18:47] Speaker B: And sex on my period. [00:18:49] Speaker A: Uh, I can understand that. [00:18:53] Speaker B: Which flavor are you most interested in? [00:19:00] Speaker A: Probably the first one. The coochie juice west coast. You know what I'm saying? [00:19:09] Speaker B: Shout out to sexy red. This is very much on brand for her. She's an advocate spreading awareness about sex education. [00:19:17] Speaker A: She's a super spreader of awareness. [00:19:19] Speaker B: Sure. [00:19:19] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? [00:19:20] Speaker B: Yeah. She's been very vocal in the past about, you know, STD's and periods and sex and things like that. So I'm not mad at the titles. [00:19:30] Speaker A: You not mad at the titles for her brand. So. Okay. [00:19:34] Speaker B: Would I be spreading any of this on my lips? Maybe the third one. [00:19:39] Speaker A: Which one is that? Gina views. [00:19:42] Speaker B: Nut I can see that for you because it's probably. I could see that it's crazy. It's probably a nude. It's probably a nude.
