[00:00:06] Speaker B: What up, Hip Hop Nation? It's your favorite homegirl, Gina Views.
[00:00:08] Speaker A: Special guest in the studio. Swerve himself is here from Chicago, Illinois. G Herbo, Goddammit.
[00:00:14] Speaker C: Yes, sir. What's up, brother man?
[00:00:15] Speaker A: Welcome back, bro.
[00:00:16] Speaker C: For sure. For sure, man.
[00:00:17] Speaker A: Appreciate you always, you know, showing love. You one of them people. I forgot what we did something together for. I think it was eyl, Earn your leisure. We did it in.
I think it was Chicago.
And so you came in do a.
[00:00:31] Speaker C: Lot of though, bro.
[00:00:32] Speaker A: You came and did a. No, but you came and spoke on a panel about the importance of economics for the community.
[00:00:37] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: I think that was the last time Chicago, for sure. Yeah. It was at this theater and it was a lot of people that showed up and it took you like an hour to get out of there because you was taking pictures and.
And that's when I. I mean, I knew you was like the mayor, but I didn't know. Cause I ain't never I see you outside of Chicago. That was my first time seeing you in Chicago.
[00:00:57] Speaker C: Yeah. Nah, for sure. I definitely, like. I go back home a lot though, bro. I get a lot of love at home. For sure. It's like, I don't know, I feel, you know, like when you feel comfortable at home. So it's like, it don't even really be feeling like work to me, for real. It's just like, just be. Just connecting with my people.
[00:01:12] Speaker A: Yeah, they love you, though.
[00:01:14] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure.
[00:01:15] Speaker A: That's what's up, bro.
[00:01:16] Speaker B: What state is your second home?
[00:01:17] Speaker C: What state is my second home?
My second home, probably Atlanta for sure.
Georgia. Georgia. State of Georgia.
[00:01:27] Speaker A: What is it about Georgia?
[00:01:29] Speaker C: I don't know. It's like I just got a lot of ties that I feel comfortable like Atlanta, probably the only city outside of Chicago that I like, hang out in.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[00:01:40] Speaker C: Really kick it in and go do whatever I want to do.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: Like I'm home, move like you at the house.
[00:01:46] Speaker C: Yeah, Atlanta, New Orleans. Like that for me too, though.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: Do you still move around, like. Cause I remember last time, time we spoke, you did kind of mention like, you know, you kind of got to move a little different than you previously had been used to moving.
[00:01:58] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure.
[00:01:58] Speaker A: You still on that, like.
[00:01:59] Speaker C: Yeah, no, definitely. Especially at home in Chicago, you know what I'm saying? With me being from there, I know exactly how to move. Like, I know the dudes and the don'ts, you feel what I'm saying? So, yeah, I definitely, like, I'M like that everywhere. For real, though. Like, I'm always taking precaution and moving strategic and just. You know what I'm saying?
Like, calculating all my moves. For real. Like, I've been like that since I was a teen kinda.
[00:02:23] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what's up, bro.
[00:02:24] Speaker C: For sure.
[00:02:25] Speaker A: And you have been. You have been dropping music. Shout out to you being on what the helly remix. Yeah, yeah, shout out to Rob 49. We had him up here talking crazy.
I like him, bro.
[00:02:35] Speaker C: Yeah, that's my brother.
[00:02:36] Speaker A: I like this gonna sound disrespectful, but this is my. That's my guy.
But I like naive dudes where, like, he not. He's street smart, but he's so, like, grateful.
And you more of a veteran, like, you used to the industry. Used to the bullshit. Used to niggas, whatever. He like. He like, bro, it's lit. And you like, nah, I'm chilling, bro. Like, let's do some music. Let's go to the house or whatever.
The what the helly remix, though, in the video. Where'd y' all shoot that at?
[00:03:07] Speaker C: Where the hell did we shoot that at?
Where we shot that at Miami.
Yeah, Miami. Yep. We shot that in Miami.
[00:03:14] Speaker B: Shot in Miami, the video hard.
[00:03:16] Speaker C: Yeah. Thank you. I appreciate it.
[00:03:17] Speaker B: We held our interview. Cause he told us that you was on a remix.
[00:03:21] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:03:21] Speaker B: So we had to hold our interview until y' all dropped it.
[00:03:23] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: How. How far out did.
Like, how did you get on that? And how far out did you know you was gonna be on the record?
[00:03:30] Speaker C: I was on the song before it came out.
[00:03:32] Speaker B: Before.
[00:03:32] Speaker A: He original?
[00:03:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:03:34] Speaker A: Get the fuck outta here.
[00:03:35] Speaker C: Yeah, Hell yeah. He just hit.
[00:03:36] Speaker A: Oh, y' all niggas be playing, bro.
[00:03:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I was on the song. I was on the song before original.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: So why weren't you on the original then, at that point?
[00:03:45] Speaker C: Cause how he was doing it, like, Rob's smart, though. He knew that record was gonna be a big record. So how he was doing it, he was like. He put out the original how he did it, and I told him to drop the original without me on it. For real?
[00:03:59] Speaker A: Really?
[00:03:59] Speaker C: Yeah, hell yeah. Cause we was gonna do different versions of the remix, you know what I'm saying? He had multiple other verses, like, other artists on it, too. And I knew it was a hit. For real. I'm like, man, put that shit out like this. And then we gonna put the remix out for.
But it took longer for the remix to come out than expected. But, yeah, I was already on the song before it came out.
[00:04:19] Speaker A: So. Did you already have a video can too?
[00:04:21] Speaker C: No, we just shot the video. Yeah, we just did that.
[00:04:24] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what's up. There's a line on there that I gotta ask you about. You say I'm out here playing with. Well, first, the line before that where you was talking about the amount of money you had on your neck.
Just cause it reminded me of us being with earn your leisure. And you was talking about the importance of community and investment and stuff. You know, you got that, you got the I don't wanna fuck the bar. But something without a pendant. Right On. Something on your neck without a pendant.
[00:04:49] Speaker C: At 1.2 in jewels. No pendant.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: Yeah, no pendant. Right.
Do you equally think. Do you invest, like, do you have stuff outside of music that you invest in? Real estate, Property. What's that look like?
[00:05:00] Speaker C: Definitely, definitely like real estate portfolio.
I'm trying to see. The thing with me is really, I believe in like land, real estate, like tangible stuff. You feel? I'm saying, like, I don't think I ever invest my money in like bitcoin or stocks or none of that shit.
[00:05:19] Speaker A: Yeah, you're not a crypto.
[00:05:20] Speaker C: I don't believe in that. Nah, I don't believe in that. I want to be able to like touch it. You feel what I'm saying? I like tangible stuff. For real? For real. So like that. And I believe in investing in like, you know, restaurants and stuff like that.
[00:05:32] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:05:32] Speaker C: You feel what I'm saying?
[00:05:33] Speaker A: You got a spot at home.
[00:05:34] Speaker C: My manager, he real big and like the restaurant business, real mix. Like, you know, that's my son, goddess. So like we real family and he got chains of restaurants. You feel me? I haven't gotten to it yet, but that's something that I really want to do.
[00:05:46] Speaker A: That's what's up.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: I want to invest in restaurants.
I believe in like investing into myself as well, though.
[00:05:54] Speaker A: Like, what's really. What's your favorite restaurant? Like, if you could own the whole thing, the whole ip? What restaurant?
[00:06:02] Speaker C: Like a chain.
[00:06:02] Speaker A: You said everything.
The whole brand. You can own it right now. Which one does that be for you?
Like the one you love?
[00:06:09] Speaker C: Probably.
Probably Italian fiesta in Chicago.
Yeah.
Okay. If I could own that whole chain, I'd definitely buy it.
[00:06:17] Speaker A: So the other part in. What the hell are you saying? I'm out here playing with 10ms. Right now. I buy yo ho a binge grippin. Fns is envy for my friends. Go ynw. Melly.
[00:06:28] Speaker C: Yeah. Sense envy from my friends. Yeah.
[00:06:29] Speaker A: Oh, since envy.
[00:06:31] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:31] Speaker B: Oh, like if you sense it.
[00:06:33] Speaker A: Oh, see, I was like, nigga, if I'm the homie, why would you do that to me? Cause I'm. Cause they have it wrong on Genius for sure. So I was like, okay.
[00:06:40] Speaker C: I sense envy from my friends. Like, yeah, all right.
[00:06:43] Speaker A: Say less.
[00:06:43] Speaker B: I thought that was one of them. When niggas in the studio, like, hold on.
[00:06:47] Speaker A: Like, we together.
[00:06:48] Speaker C: Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. I'm basically. That's a warning shot. Don't let me sense the envy. I'm ready to do whatever behind it.
[00:06:56] Speaker B: When did you come up with the or get to the mindset to. To invest?
[00:07:03] Speaker C: Probably, like, let me see the last. Maybe like four years. Like three, four years. Like, you feel me? Like, my brother just bought, like, some acres of land in Chicago. Is my big brother right there. Like, he just bought big ass, like, acres of land. So, like, we just, you know, just trying to be smart with the money this time around. Cause I blew a lot of money. Like, smart.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I read about that gm, bro.
I read about a lot of money being back at like 100 million and 40 million. And it was like, yeah.
[00:07:31] Speaker B: What's your biggest purchase throughout your career?
[00:07:33] Speaker C: My biggest purchase probably on cars. Like, about like seven cars in one year.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: Damn, fool.
[00:07:45] Speaker C: Just doing shit.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: You got a fleet?
[00:07:48] Speaker C: Yeah, just doing it.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: That's nice.
[00:07:50] Speaker C: Probably spent, like, like almost 2 million or something like that on cars. Like, yeah.
[00:07:55] Speaker B: Where they at now?
[00:07:57] Speaker C: I don't even got him no more. I gave them away.
[00:07:59] Speaker A: You gave them away?
[00:08:00] Speaker C: Not gave them away, but, like, sold them and shit.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
Different.
[00:08:04] Speaker C: Gave them away like that, like. Yeah.
[00:08:06] Speaker B: You consider yourself big bro or Y N?
[00:08:09] Speaker C: Big bro? For sure. I'm definitely not a Y N no more.
[00:08:11] Speaker B: You kind of hybrid, though.
[00:08:12] Speaker C: Hybrid, Yeah. I could go hybrid.
I fuck with that hybrid. Yeah, for sure. Like. Cause I don't know, I just.
I fuck with, like, the younger generation. Like, I still like my little cuz and some of the little bros is Y N's. And like, I'm the big bro. That's like, all right, that's what we own. I'm on what you own.
[00:08:32] Speaker B: Let's do it.
[00:08:32] Speaker C: So, yeah, I'll be a hybrid. I'll take that.
[00:08:35] Speaker B: What's the song? I literally didn't even realize how long you've been doing this. I don't know if you just been. If you got an early start or if it's that you are getting to your legendary status. What's the song? When you sampled Let Me Lick youk up and 2016, that was 2016. Yeah.
[00:08:54] Speaker C: That's crazy.
[00:08:55] Speaker B: That's almost 10 years ago.
[00:08:56] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. That's crazy. Yep. Yeah. I mean, yeah, it had to be 2016. My son wasn't born yet. He was born in 2018.
[00:09:04] Speaker B: What was the conversation when. Cause he just performed with you on stage. What was the conversation for him even making a song and then y' all deciding to put him on stage with you?
[00:09:14] Speaker C: I didn't have nothing to do with that song. I swear. I didn't even know he made the song at all. Like, he was just at the.
Him and his big cousin, you know? Bandlab. Shout out to bandlab, man. Where, like, kids could really just like, create. Create and just. You know what I'm saying, be artists and chase their dreams from the living room of the house.
Like, they was just at the crib on Band Lab. They pulled the beat up, and he did the song. And I don't even know who told. Like, I think maybe he called me after or maybe Mick called me and told me he had a song. Somebody called me and was like, man, your song got a song. And he didn't even call me about it. So I hit him. Like, man, you got a song? Send it to him. Let me hear it. Send it to me. And he sent it.
I'm like, damn, this shit fire ain't gonna lie. I'm like, damn, this song sound hard. You feel me? And I think his mom had posted it on ig first, she posted it on her story, and when she posted it, that shit went viral and made, like, a lot of blogs. Like, a lot. I seen it for, like, three days straight. Like, your song got a song. Like, it made everywhere. Shade, Room, everything. You feel me? And, like, I like the song anyway, but when I seen the reactions, the comments, they like, oh, yeah, Neff hard, Neph, hard. He gotta drop. He gotta. So I'm like, damn, man, I'm finna let him put the song out. And after that, he kept, like, calling me like, yeah, son. I mean, yeah, dad. I'm like, yeah, son, I'm gonna have you shoot the video. Like, I'm gonna have you shoot your video. Put your song out. Like, I'm gonna put it out on one of my projects. Like, I was just gonna put it out as a bonus without me on it. You feel what I'm saying? And then he asked me to jump on it and do a verse.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: What is that? How did he ask you to for a verse? He didn't even.
[00:10:52] Speaker C: Like, he didn't even ask me directly.
[00:10:55] Speaker A: He. At Your manager?
[00:10:56] Speaker C: No, he asked.
My manager is his manager. We got the same manager. He's. He gonna manage your son for real?
[00:11:04] Speaker B: That is so cute.
[00:11:05] Speaker C: But, nah, he didn't even ask me. I was at. We was at the crib and he asked Tyena. He asked her. He was like, I left out and went to the store. He asked Tyena, like, you think my dad will jump on this song? And she like, of course he will. Like, yeah. So I got back home, and she like, your son said he wants you to get on the song. I'm like, what? I asked him, you want me to jump on it? He like, yeah. I'm like, all right. Bet I got you. Say less. I went to the studio probably, like two days later, jumped on it, sent him the record back, and he going crazy. Like, when I sent it back, he was like, super happy, super excited. And I had the show coming up. I had the summer smash. It was probably like a week or two away from when I did the song. I'm like, you wanna perform it? I asked him like, you wanna perform the song? He like, yeah. I perform like, man, you ain't gonna be scared, are you? Like, nah, I don't perform. I'm like, all right, say less. So when I said, I put the bug in his ear and I left it alone. And then he just started calling me from that point on, like, yeah, dad, when we gonna perform? When we doing this? Then he called me when I was doing an interview. He like, like, me, an interview. And I saw the phone. He like, hey, dad, I'm gonna get paid.
[00:12:08] Speaker A: Pressure.
[00:12:09] Speaker C: Yeah, man, I got you. I had already said, I'm on camera now, so I gotta make sure I pay you for real. But I was gonna dan and do it anyway. Cause he asked. So I'm like, all right, bet I got you. I'm gonna give you some money for it. So he was super excited for it. He did it, did the show. He got his back in.
[00:12:24] Speaker A: He got his back in.
[00:12:25] Speaker B: What's his booking fee?
[00:12:26] Speaker C: He's an artist, man. I don't know. If y' all wanna book Baby Crash, it's gonna have to be a daytime event.
He already. I gave him. I gave him what I gave him. Yo, he need a 50 ball.
Damn.
[00:12:38] Speaker A: 50,000.
[00:12:40] Speaker C: A 50 ball?
[00:12:41] Speaker A: I'll perform for 20.
[00:12:42] Speaker C: You'll perform for a 20?
[00:12:43] Speaker A: Facts.
[00:12:44] Speaker B: 2500 pops.
[00:12:46] Speaker C: I'm getting. I'm. I'm getting. I'm getting a hundred. So he could. He could start off at a 50 ball, man. Sell them tickets out if they gonna go, you know, for real. For real. But yeah, I gave him a couple thousand for his first year.
[00:12:57] Speaker A: That's crazy.
How old is he?
[00:12:59] Speaker C: He's seven.
[00:13:00] Speaker A: Paid show.
[00:13:01] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: You for sure didn't have no paid shows.
[00:13:05] Speaker C: I did my first paid show when I was probably like 17.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: Okay, 16.
[00:13:09] Speaker C: 17 or what you. How. How was I probably like 16? Yeah, 16.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: Damn.
[00:13:14] Speaker C: My first show I got 500.
[00:13:16] Speaker B: Yeah, 500,000?
[00:13:18] Speaker C: No, 500 for his first show ever. My first show ever. I ain't got 500,000 yet at all.
I don't. Speak some life into it real quick.
[00:13:28] Speaker B: Manifest it up the price.
[00:13:30] Speaker C: For sure.
[00:13:31] Speaker B: It's a.
You were getting a lot of praise earlier. I think it was earlier this year or end of last year for your ex and your girl not having no drama, coming together and just settling they differences.
What was the like, what did it take for. Everybody should just say, you know what, let's just cut the bullshit and men things.
[00:13:55] Speaker C: I think it was them just realizing that it really wasn't. You know what I'm saying?
No issue, nothing serious between them. Like, yeah, I didn't.
[00:14:03] Speaker B: They credited. The niggas is crediting you.
[00:14:06] Speaker C: Nah, I ain't say nothing.
[00:14:07] Speaker A: For real.
[00:14:08] Speaker C: Like, to be honest, like, I didn't, I didn't force them to have a conversation. I didn't tell them it was time to have a conversation. And none of that. I think it's just over time they just realized that, you know, more important to, you know what I'm saying? Set example for the kids, be a family for the kids. That's really what it was. For real.
[00:14:24] Speaker A: Like, that's fire.
[00:14:24] Speaker C: I'm not gonna take no credit for it at all, you know what I'm saying? It's really just two grown women just putting their differences aside, having a conversation and realizing how much they love their kids. For real. You know what I'm saying? And you know, of course I'm grateful for it, super grateful. But I ain't had nothing to do with it, man. I just, I think my only role in it was putting my kids first in every situation and not really, you know, choosing a side or trying to create friction. Because a lot of time as me and you know, men play a big role in just not playing the middle and being mutual and saying like. I always was very verbal about saying like, you know, like, you know, my relationship is one thing, but also I gotta still, you know, show my son that I care about his mom as well, because that's his mom. You feel what I'm saying, so that's where I always been at with it.
[00:15:10] Speaker A: That's fire.
[00:15:11] Speaker B: I appreciate even, like you just saying that had nothing to do with me. That was all them. Because the baby mama's beefing and tension, not y'. All. But in general, that whole narrative is too normalized.
[00:15:22] Speaker C: Yeah, super, super.
[00:15:23] Speaker B: So people were so shocked at seeing that is. Oh shit, she her little nigga da da da da. But like, that's something that should be more so normalized at.
[00:15:29] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. I think when you just like when you family oriented and you put the kids first. Like, the first time I ever seen that was with my little brother. He passed away and I didn't know how the fuck he did it. Like, his baby mamas was cool, like in the house, chilling. He got his baby mamas, his kids there. Like, that was the first time I ever seen that with my little brother. And I was jealous of him. Like, I ain't gonna lie. I'm like, man, how is this even possible? You feel me? So it's always possible. I feel like when it's just like, for one, you gotta just do the right thing as a father and as a man. Then two, the women gotta just, you know, put whatever pride or whatever they got to the side. Like, you know, I'm not even just speaking on my situation, just any situation in.
When you just thinking about family oriented stuff, it's easy at that point, you know what I'm saying? Like, after that, we all could hang out together. Like, I wasn't. They went out the country without me, you know, I'm on federal probation, so I can't travel international, like, unless I get permission. So they, you know, they got their own relationship now. That's fire, bro.
[00:16:31] Speaker A: What's the key to? I guess I'm asking. Cause I don't. My personal life is all fucked up. But like, what's the key to being with somebody who's lit? Because I like low key women where I like, you know. I'm pretty sure you had that experience too, where I like went teachers and shit, you know what I'm saying? Like, she teach preschool.
[00:16:50] Speaker C: Yeah. I ain't never been in a private relationship and every relationship I would been in was public for like, I only been with two women, like, for real. For real. And that's both of my. You know what I'm saying?
[00:16:58] Speaker A: But what's the key to like my children, like, being with somebody that's also as equally popular as you?
[00:17:05] Speaker C: You gotta have confidence, you know I'm saying, Especially when you're dealing with, like, a woman that's attractive and lit, you feel me? You gotta have confidence as a man and know that, like this my woman. And you gotta make your woman feel secure and knowing that, like, you got her, you gonna protect her at all times. That's what I feel like. You feel me? Especially in the public eye, you know what I'm saying? You just gotta know how to move and maneuver. You gotta know that your actual personal life is your personal life. So you focus on that. Like, I don't really focus on the outside world of the Internet. I don't care to please them. I don't care what they think about me or what they think about me as a man or any of that. Like, you know, I'm saying I really only care about my household and my woman, you know what I'm saying? And making her happy. So I feel like in a relationship like that, when it's in the public eye, you just gotta focus on what's in front of you, not what's around. You know what I'm saying? The Internet and all of that, it's gonna always be good comments, negative comments. You can't even feed into the good comments. You just gotta really feed into your actual life and your relationship into that. You know what I'm saying? Because every relationship got problems. So just try to. Even when it's in the public eye, try to keep it as private and low key as possible. Like, you know what I'm saying? You never want to argue on the Internet. You never want to post nothing like that or, you know, y' all going.
[00:18:21] Speaker A: Through it, taking it to public.
[00:18:22] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Like, I never, you know what I'm saying? Like, I never been the type to do that. You feel what I'm saying? And, you know, luckily you feel me. You once. You Once you lay your law down and you just like, all right, this is what I abide by. I feel like if you lead, then your woman, if you're a good leader, your woman will follow you for sure.
[00:18:41] Speaker B: There's a clip of you from a long, long time ago where she giving you the chain, and then you start crying. You turned into a meme. But people started to use it as one of those, like, dang, like, I'm really in love. She doing something, you know, like, cool.
Did you expect to become a meme in that moment, or you're not even thinking about it?
[00:18:57] Speaker C: No, I didn't even expect to cry for real. Cause it was my birthday and I was thinking about my grandmother, and she Said it too. Like, when she had got me the chain and she saw me, my grandmother, that day, it was like a clip. Like, my grandma recorded me on, like, my third or fourth birthday. And I was just saying, like, you know, like, you know how, like, when you reach a certain point of, like, success and you feel like an empty void and you like, man, I wish my grandma was here to see what I'm doing now. Like. Cause it was in the midst of me dropping, like, a big project. I had dropped my album 2 5, or I was about to drop. Was it out or it was coming out or on a day.
[00:19:30] Speaker A: 25 was 20, 21.
[00:19:32] Speaker C: Yeah, that was. That was the same time when she got it. Like, she had bought that on my 25th birthday is when she got me the chain and stuff.
So when I seen my grandma, I just. I don't know, I just broke down crying. I wasn't even thinking about nobody in front of me or the cameras and none of that shit. Like. And, like, I ain't never really, like, I don't. I don't really care about, like.
Like showing my emotions, like, in public. For real.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: Cause you even vulnerable in the music.
[00:19:55] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Like, so when it came to that, like, I didn't really think about it as much. Like, I ain't thinking about that I was gonna become a meme or none of that type of shit. Like, meme come out like air. Two years, it resurfaced on the Internet. For real. So it's like, it'll be back in a couple years. Yeah.
[00:20:10] Speaker B: Outside. I'm sorry. Outside of it being like, a very sentimental moment for you. I feel like a lot of people could relate to the moment just in general, with you even experiencing something where somebody gives you something.
[00:20:22] Speaker C: Somebody gave you something.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: It's like you see a thug crying.
[00:20:25] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
[00:20:26] Speaker B: With women, that stuff warm our hearts.
[00:20:27] Speaker C: Yeah. Nah, for sure. People was, like, saying that, like, man, my girl ain't bought me shit.
My girl ain't buy me nothing. I can't get this and that. Like, you know what I'm saying? But yeah, she, like, that's like her love language, gift giving. Like, she liked doing that kind of stuff. For real. Like, just from. From that. And then she topped it. She got me a track hawk the next year. You feel what I'm saying? So, like, n was like, they was commenting like, man, I'm leaving my bitch. I don't even want to be with my girl.
Don't leave her.
[00:20:52] Speaker A: Cause she ain't get you no fucking track. Hawk, that's not. That's not a thing.
[00:20:56] Speaker C: But, I mean, yeah, I ain't really, like, you know what I'm saying? Think too much on it, you know, I'm super appreciative, like, just being able to receive anything from. You know what I'm saying? From your significant other. Like, whatever it is, you know, like, you can't really shoot for the stars. You feel what I'm saying? Like, whatever it is, just appreciate it. That's what I'm gonna say, like, to any man out there.
[00:21:16] Speaker A: When I saw you say Meek Mill changed your life.
And I wanted to know more about that, like, perspective, not necessarily what he did.
[00:21:24] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I'm talking about before I even met him. Just, like, what his music did to me, God did for me. You feel me? That's what I meant by, like, changed my life. Like, he was one of the first, like, artists that, like, from a real street perspective, like, I used to come home and I used to watch his freestyles at school. Like, before he became Meek Mill. You feel what I'm saying? Like, flameless mixtapes and shit like that. When he used to battle rap, him and reed dollars and shit. Like, I used to really watch that when I came home from school. So when I seen him become the biggest street artist in the world, like, it made me feel like, damn, I could do this shit. Like, I used to wake up and play his music. And you know what I'm saying? I wanted to. That was the first time where it's, like, ever in my life where I wanted to be a artist in that kind of way. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I love Lil Wayne. I love his music. But growing up, I didn't want to be Lil Wayne. You feel what I'm saying? I didn't want to be like Lil Wayne. Cause I ain't even know I wanted to rap yet. So that was around the time where it's like, I want to rap. And it's like, all right. I want to be that nigga. Like, a street nigga that's a global superstar that could rap. You feel what I'm saying? Like, it wasn't no gimmicks. It wasn't no. Like, Meek Mill was known for bars, like, really having bars. And he was, you know what I'm saying? Still is, like, one of the greatest to ever do this shit for real. So I'm saying. So it's like. That's what I meant by, like, changed my life. Cause he changed my perspective. Like, just how I moved as artist and the shit that I was rapping about, like, if you go back to, like, the beginning of my career, the first song that I was putting out was remixes of Meek Mills. You feel me? Like.
[00:22:58] Speaker A: I want to go back.
[00:22:59] Speaker C: Just.
[00:22:59] Speaker A: First of all, congratulations, because I know you dropped this year, but you've been pretty. The only year you missed dropping, I think since 2014, is 2014, 2023, which is impressive, especially for artists that be independent and go majored and, like, you know, like, the whole shit.
1. Can you give me a secret to. Or not a secret, but, yo, is it diligence or consistency or, like, what's the. What's. What's. Artists that are watching this. What's a way that you've been able to be that consistent?
[00:23:28] Speaker C: Planning, bro.
No matter what I plan, like, I plan out how I want my year to look, musically at least.
[00:23:36] Speaker A: Like, how far in advance?
[00:23:38] Speaker C: A whole year. Oh, sometimes I might plan in 2021 what I want to come out in 2023, but I'm still, like, working and putting music out. And I mean, putting music together where it's like, in the meantime, like, all right, I'm working on this project. This project coming out in 2023, but in the midst of me working on that, let me work on what I want to come out in. 2021, 2022, as well. Like, that's how far I visualize and plan ahead. So, like, with that being said, all those years, I, like. And with me being independent, it's like I forced, like, the hand of my team and everybody around me to be like, all right, this is what I want to do. And, like, I need y' all to make it happen. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, sometimes I know I stress them out a lot, for sure, but it's like. And they see how passionate I am about the music and how passionate I am about, you know, putting it together for my fans and for the people that's listening and counting on me to deliver this music. You see what I'm saying? So, like, even in 2023, that whole year, I didn't drop no music. It was probably the most that I, like, strategized into. Like, all right, bet when I come out of this, I know how I want to do it. Like, I know how I want to drop. I'm about to flood the market. Like, so now from 2024 up until now, 2025, this the most music I ever dropped in my career in this short amount of time. Short amount of Time, you know what I'm saying? Like, when it came to mixtapes, albums, singles, whatever it is, I just wanted to flood the market. So I spent the whole year, 2023, getting my business in order.
[00:25:09] Speaker A: There was a lot of shit going on.
[00:25:10] Speaker C: It was a lot of shit going on. I know I spent that whole year getting my business in order and just, you know, fighting the case. I was making sure I stayed free and just trying to do everything to. When I. The first moment I had the first opportunity I had to drop some music, I knew I was gonna ride that momentum and just keep putting it out. Like, so that's what I mean by planning and strategizing. Like, it's okay to. To take time on what you're doing, you know what I'm saying? Especially if you passionate about it, you know what I'm saying? It's your career, and you only got one life to live, so make sure that you doing it right. Like, I'm not saying don't live in the moment you feel I'm saying, but just plan ahead, you know? Like, that's all I ever done. Like, I always been the kind of guy, like, I plan so much, it don't even always happen the way I want it to happen, you know what I'm saying? Like, you could call audibles and stuff like that in the meantime. Like, I don't always see everything through, but at least I got an idea of how I want my life to be and how I want my career to be and how I want my music to come out and how I want my music to sound. You feel what I'm saying? Like, and with that is, like, especially if you got a team around you that's just as passionate as you are, they gonna make sure that you, like, you know, that you hold yourself accountable for real, like, when it comes to that type of stuff. And. And when that. And. And I always believed in putting people around, like, to maximize on my weaknesses. You feel what I'm saying? Like, the things that I'm not really good at doing, I try to go get somebody that's good at doing that, you know what I'm saying? And put them in place to. To, you know, make sure that I'm not really letting none slip through the cracks.
[00:26:43] Speaker A: That whole year, the 2023, I remember it was a lot. You like the case. You said that you came out with Big Swerve 2.0. That was 2024. And the one one on there was in the air. Like, a lot of people was like, oh, this Is like, you know what I mean? Like that was the one that, that stood out to me too. You know, niggas was playing on the radio, whatnot. And then I think that people kind of expected the same type of thing. This go around right with Greatest Rapper Alive.
Well, first of all, let me go back to the in the air. Have you talked to Durk? I mean, I mean, not Durk. Yeah, yeah, like have you talked to him since he been like Dan? Yeah, I talked to him.
[00:27:18] Speaker C: I probably talked to, I spoke to Smirk, probably like not even a week ago, a couple days ago.
[00:27:23] Speaker A: Okay, so like you talked to like the spirits or like.
[00:27:26] Speaker C: Yeah, nah, he in great spirits, man. And Smirk is a real strong, level headed guy, you know what I'm saying? So like he know that, you know, it's light at the end of the tunnel. He just really preparing himself mentally for that. For real? For real. So yeah, I spoke to him, you know, just, you know, sending them love and stuff like that and just playing music on the speaker for him to hear, shit like that. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Just letting him know I'm holding it down for him. Yeah, I had mentioned his name on one of my records, you feel me? So like he was happy to hear that. For real. But yeah, that's my brother. So yeah, I just spoke to him and you know, just sending messages through like his team and just shit like that. Just, you know what I'm saying? Keep him in good spirits while he in there and let him know that the world waiting on him, which he know that already for real. But it ain't nothing like getting after.
[00:28:12] Speaker B: I feel you on Greatest rapper Alive. You got some very notable samples.
Twister. Do you what was it? Let me hold you'd Omarion, Bow Wow, Separated Avant.
[00:28:24] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:28:25] Speaker B: Do you have some sort of significance with R B? Are you like a R B fan?
[00:28:28] Speaker C: Yeah, I love R and B. I grew up to R and B and just being able to get on them records and have fun and rap too. You feel what I'm saying?
[00:28:36] Speaker A: You're not finna do a R and B album though.
[00:28:37] Speaker C: Nah, I won't do. I would do a R and B album but I'm not working on it like if I was.
[00:28:42] Speaker B: You tried to sing before?
[00:28:43] Speaker C: Nah, I suck at singing. I know I can't.
[00:28:45] Speaker B: But you tried.
[00:28:46] Speaker C: I mean everybody tried to sing when they private.
[00:28:48] Speaker A: Like is it records? Are there records recorded with you singing?
[00:28:53] Speaker C: Yeah, I got a couple records where I'm like trying to use auto tune like in the cut.
[00:28:58] Speaker A: Those ain't Never coming out.
[00:28:59] Speaker C: No, they might. My engineer might could trick me into putting that shit on a project or something, man. But I definitely got some records where I'm like trying to sing and shit like that, but everybody sing just in the house, playing in the shower and shit like that.
[00:29:12] Speaker B: What's your favorite R B album?
[00:29:13] Speaker C: My favorite R B album of all time, probably Confessions. Probably one of them. Yeah. That's a great choice.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: Well, that's top five R B of all time.
[00:29:27] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense.
[00:29:28] Speaker C: I would say Confessions for sure.
[00:29:30] Speaker B: Let's talk about this diss track on Greatest Rapper Alive, though.
[00:29:33] Speaker C: I got a diss track.
[00:29:34] Speaker B: You got a diss track over there that desperate.
[00:29:37] Speaker C: Oh, that's. That's kind of Stupid ass bitch. That's dis ish. I was just saying.
[00:29:40] Speaker A: Shit.
[00:29:41] Speaker B: I was just.
[00:29:41] Speaker A: He said before the. I never heard dish ish before.
It's dish ish.
[00:29:46] Speaker B: What type of day was you having?
[00:29:47] Speaker A: It's dish.
It's diss adjacent. That's what it look.
[00:29:51] Speaker C: So boom. It was my. It was my. My engineer, Oz. It was his idea to even do that sample, you know what I'm saying? So, like, when I did it, you know, like I was trying to kind of be in a mix. Like what Avant was saying. Like, every time I see you, I get a bad vibe. So I'm like, how could I flip this and make it, like, relevant? So as soon as it came on, I don't know why, it just like clicked on my head like, stupid ass bitch. I just went with it. I don't know, I just rolled it out. It was like four in the morning in the studio.
[00:30:23] Speaker A: You might have got a bad. Like one of them ones Uber driver that day or something.
[00:30:26] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't even. Yeah, bro, I don't know. I was just like in there, we was drinking, having fun. And when I did, I think I was mumbling. Like, that was probably something I was gonna put in the verse. Like, stupid ass bitch. I was like, nah, hell no. Make that the hook. Like, bridge that right there. And you said. I'm like, all right, bet. Fuck it. And I just went. And we was laughing, though. Like, we was laughing so hard when we did it. I'm like, yeah, we gotta just do it like that. Cause if we laughing, everybody that hear that shit gonna be laughing when they hear it. You feel what I'm saying?
[00:30:53] Speaker B: It's funny too.
[00:30:54] Speaker C: Yeah, it's funny. Yeah. I was just being silly.
[00:30:57] Speaker B: Even if I'm opening up with. Every time I see you, I get a bad Vibe.
[00:31:00] Speaker C: I get a bad vibe. You see what I'm saying? Like, that's a hard opening line right there. For real. So I just wanted to match that energy. So, yeah, the stupid bitch was catchy. Like, I seen a nigga on TikTok. His girl got in the car, he played it, played the song. Stupid ass bitch, she looking at him like, fuck, nigga.
[00:31:19] Speaker B: So before you go, we gotta play my card game. It's called Hofessions, where I get into rapper's business.
[00:31:23] Speaker C: Hoe fashions. Yeah, that's a real game.
[00:31:26] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a real whole. She got a whole show.
She got a whole podcast.
[00:31:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Feel free to pull up and let me dig in yours.
[00:31:33] Speaker C: Say less. Say less.
[00:31:33] Speaker B: I went light. Cause we in the building.
[00:31:35] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, say less, say less.
[00:31:36] Speaker A: So I read these.
[00:31:37] Speaker B: You can read the question and then you can skip the question and make him answer it.
[00:31:42] Speaker A: Well, I gotta answer it.
[00:31:43] Speaker B: If you wanna duck it, say less.
[00:31:44] Speaker A: That's crazy. Just answer this shit.
[00:31:46] Speaker B: I ain't gonna read it out loud though.
[00:31:48] Speaker C: All right, let me see. What planet did Trey Songz want to take a trip to make love on?
[00:31:56] Speaker A: That's a R and B question.
[00:31:57] Speaker C: What planet was that? You know what planet that was?
You do? What planet was it?
Yep.
[00:32:04] Speaker A: Say it.
[00:32:04] Speaker C: Yep, yep, yep. Jupiter.
[00:32:06] Speaker B: What's the song?
[00:32:07] Speaker C: Jupiter.
Jupiter.
Yep, yep.
[00:32:13] Speaker A: You got some singing songs.
[00:32:14] Speaker C: That's cause he's freaky as hell. That's how he know that song.
What time was Pretty Ricky having phone sex?
Five in the morning. Mm, yup.
Say less. I'm kinda good at this shit.
[00:32:34] Speaker A: Nigga got one right.
[00:32:35] Speaker C: Who was Lil Meech?
Let me see. All right, wait, hold on. Okay. Who was Lil Meech helping with their groceries? His cousin.
Hell no, man. That n fried, man.
What was Lloyd's player's prayer?
Thou shall not run these streets. Thou shalt not hit the club every night of the week looking for some groupie love.
[00:33:01] Speaker B: Oh, you know something?
[00:33:02] Speaker C: Yeah.
What's the pettiest reason you cut someone off?
Hmm?
The pettiest reason?
[00:33:16] Speaker A: Damn, you don't really strike me as petty, but.
[00:33:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I ain't really petty. That's what I'm saying. I'm not petty at all. But I could think of some petty shit I done did in my life. I'm a Libra.
[00:33:26] Speaker A: What about if your barber it up your shit up and you got rid of them?
[00:33:31] Speaker C: Yeah, but I'm thinking of something a little better than that. Okay, trying to think.
That's the pettiest reason I cut somebody else. Probably When I was younger. When I was young, I used to do a lot of fucked up shit.
I probably.
I think I stopped talking to a girl. Cause she catfished me before.
[00:33:53] Speaker A: That's not a good reason.
[00:33:55] Speaker C: That's a good reason.
[00:33:55] Speaker A: Hell yeah. What you mean?
[00:33:57] Speaker C: Yeah, like, she. She ain't really. Like, look how she supposed to look, bro, that's automatic.
[00:34:02] Speaker A: Do not pass gold. Do not collect.
[00:34:05] Speaker C: So, like, never talk to him again.
[00:34:06] Speaker A: No, that's a liar.
[00:34:07] Speaker B: That's false advertising.
[00:34:09] Speaker C: All right, So I ain't petty for that.
[00:34:11] Speaker A: I know people done got beat up for that.
[00:34:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:34:14] Speaker A: You know what I'm saying? Like, that's. That's crazy.
[00:34:18] Speaker C: I probably stopped talking to a girl in high school. Cause I ain't like her shoes or some shit.
[00:34:22] Speaker A: That's pissed.
[00:34:23] Speaker B: Yeah, no, that's.
[00:34:24] Speaker A: That's.
He didn't like her shoes. It was dirty.
[00:34:27] Speaker B: Imagine a bitch pulling up in Team Jordans.
[00:34:29] Speaker C: Yeah, like that ain't it.
[00:34:31] Speaker B: Hell no.
[00:34:33] Speaker C: I feel like that's the main. Like, that's one of the. That's one of the first things. Shit, I even. I still look at you.
[00:34:39] Speaker A: Look at.
[00:34:40] Speaker C: Yeah, the shoes.
[00:34:41] Speaker A: Like, okay, you gotta start at the feet.
[00:34:42] Speaker C: Can't fuck with you no more.
Yeah, I did that back in the day for sure.
Your friend is about to die, and the only way for them to survive is your wife. Husband forms oral sex on them in front of you.
Man, you know how many dead homies I got? Another one, another one won't matter.
[00:35:00] Speaker A: Guys are crazy.
[00:35:02] Speaker C: I'mma tat your name. Brody.
[00:35:04] Speaker A: Yeah, right here on the forearm.
[00:35:07] Speaker C: You good, man, I see my bitch doing anything like that, I'm gonna kill him anyway.
So it's like, it don't even matter.
Nigga was bound to die. It's over with it say spit a freestyle or let the person next to you search your phone for the word swallow.
Hmm.

You know, I know it ain't really shit in my phone about no swallow, but what freestyle. Can I say real quick, man?
[00:35:40] Speaker A: You good?
[00:35:40] Speaker B: I already got the clip.
[00:35:41] Speaker C: You got the clip? Yeah, Freestyle.
[00:35:43] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, you good.
[00:35:44] Speaker C: Say less.
Say less.
[00:35:46] Speaker B: I'm cutting it right there.
[00:35:47] Speaker C: Say less.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: Nah, but listen, bro, this game fire, though.
[00:35:52] Speaker C: Can you send me a copy of this?
[00:35:53] Speaker B: Yeah, give me somebody.
[00:35:54] Speaker A: Send me out.
[00:35:55] Speaker C: All right, this. I need this.
[00:35:56] Speaker A: It's a drinking game, so.
[00:35:57] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:35:58] Speaker B: It's actually, I gave you the light cards because I respect relationships.
[00:36:01] Speaker C: Yeah, no, I wanna. I'm gonna. I wanna play it with my girl. Me and Ty gonna play it together.
[00:36:04] Speaker B: Look at this one.
[00:36:05] Speaker C: Yeah, we like like this. Have you ever been called masturbating? No, I haven't.
Hell no. For sure. Wait, I probably did when I was younger, man. I think my grandma probably did or called me about to after some shit. I was a little horny little boy. I used to beat off a couple times, bro.
[00:36:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I see you.
[00:36:24] Speaker C: You stupid.
[00:36:25] Speaker A: Say less, but, nah, I always appreciate you coming through, bro. And like, like, you always, like, every time I speak to you, you seem like you another level for sure, bro.
[00:36:33] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, man, I appreciate that.
[00:36:35] Speaker A: Keep evolving.
[00:36:35] Speaker C: I'm gonna come back for sure. We do the album rollout, man. I'm gonna pull back up.
[00:36:38] Speaker A: You gonna drop again this year? Would I make two this year?
[00:36:40] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. I'm dropping this year.
[00:36:42] Speaker A: You?
[00:36:42] Speaker C: You just flexing your indie shit whole fashion. I'm gonna pull up. Yeah. So what you doing? Like, what nights? Like, what days of the week? Or you just, like, schedule? All right, say whatever. All right. I don't push up.
[00:36:52] Speaker A: I'm pulling service. Yeah, Yeah.
[00:36:54] Speaker C: I fuck with lip service, too. Yeah, for sure.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: Anytime you wanted to, bro, you pull up open doors, you know what I'm saying? Always welcome. G herbo is here. Ski the greatest rapper alive.
